Lotus, known for its iconic lightweight sports cars, is making a bold shift into the electric vehicle era with its latest creation: the Lotus Emeya. Unlike the compact sports cars the brand is famous for, the Emeya is an all-electric hyper GT sedan that redefines speed and performance in an entirely new way.

Designed as a departure from traditional Lotus models, the Emeya draws inspiration from its electric SUV sibling, the Eletre, while showcasing a fresh design direction.

With production scheduled to begin in 2024 and deliveries in the US anticipated to start in 2025, the Emeya R EV boasts an impressive 905 horsepower and 727 lb-ft of torque from a dual-motor EV powertrain. This power enables it to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.8 seconds, albeit slightly slower than the Porsche Taycan Turbo S.

Powered by a substantial 102 kWh battery, the Emeya promises exceptional range, exceeding the Taycan Turbo S’s EPA-rated 222 miles.

Moreover, its 800V electrical architecture allows for rapid charging, with a 15-minute charge on a 350 kW fast charger providing 80% battery capacity. Lotus claims that just five minutes of charging can add 93 miles of range.

The Emeya’s exterior features active aerodynamic elements, including an adjustable front grille for optimizing airflow and an active rear spoiler that generates up to 474 pounds of downforce.

Rolling on 22-inch wheels and equipped with semi-active electronically controlled air suspension, the Emeya promises a dynamic driving experience.

Inside, the Emeya offers a luxurious cabin adorned with high-quality materials. A central touchscreen serves as the interface for various vehicle functions, complemented by a high-end audio system and slim OLED displays for both driver and passenger.

An augmented reality head-up display provides crucial information, integrating real-time road data and advanced driver assistance system alerts.

Expected to hit the market in 2024, the Lotus Emeya will be available in three trims: Emeya, Emeya S, and Emeya R, with prices starting at 106,400 Euros ($116,254) for the base model and ranging up to 150,990 Euros ($164,973) for the flagship R variant.
