Meet Adro Davis, formerly a designer for Mercedes, Hyundai, and Rivian, now known for his car modifications tailored to personal preferences or client requests. Recently, Davis embarked on a project to restyle his brand-new BMW M2 using an unexpected material – duct tape.
Known as Davis Yongwon Lee on social media, he’s sought after for transforming ordinary cars into eye-catching machines. Following his tenure with prominent automakers, Davis assumed the role of Chief Design Officer at Adro Design.
Having worked on notable projects like the Mercedes-Maybach Vision 6 concept car and the pioneering Mercedes-Benz CLS, Davis now occasionally indulges in social media antics. Despite initially disliking the BMW M2 G87’s design, Davis warmed up to it and even purchased one.
Announcing the delivery on Instagram, Davis expressed his desire to further customize his M2. Armed with a unique and unconventional approach, he turned to duct tape for the transformation.
With red and black duct tape, he meticulously applied modifications, altering the car’s appearance. While appearing satisfactory from a distance, a closer look reveals its makeshift nature.
Addressing both the front and rear, Davis extended the taillights and reimagined the front fascia. Seeking validation, he shared photoshopped images of the modifications, engaging his followers’ opinions.
