Cupra is gearing up to electrify the Australian market with the arrival of the high-performance Cupra Born VZ in 2025. With power and torque figures that rival the iconic Golf R, this electric hot hatch promises an exhilarating driving experience like no other.

Set to join Cupra’s Australian lineup, the Born VZ boasts an impressive single-motor rear-wheel drivetrain, delivering a robust 240kW of power and 545Nm of torque.

Accelerating from 0 to 100km/h in just 5.7 seconds and reaching a top speed of 200km/h, it stands as the fastest vehicle built on the Volkswagen Group’s MEB architecture to date.

Equipped with a larger 79kWh battery pack, the Born VZ offers increased range and performance, setting a new standard for electric hatchbacks. Its enhanced chassis setup, known as DCC Sport, ensures superior handling, with updated damper valve settings, spring designs, anti-roll bars, and steering system for a dynamic driving experience.

Externally, the Born VZ features dark chrome badging, wider tires, and striking 20-inch alloy wheels, available in two designs. New color options, including midnight black and exclusive dark green “Dark Forest,” add to its bold exterior presence.

While sharing similarities with the Volkswagen ID.3, including factory, underpinnings, and interior components, the Born VZ stands out with its unique performance-oriented features and design elements.

With the anticipated GTX variant of the ID.3 expected to share drivetrain upgrades with the Born VZ, enthusiasts can look forward to a thrilling driving experience like never before.

As Cupra continues to redefine electric mobility, the Born VZ represents a bold step forward in the electrification of high-performance vehicles, setting new standards for power, efficiency, and driving dynamics in the electric hot hatch segment. Stay tuned as Cupra prepares to unleash its electrifying masterpiece on Australian roads in 2025.
