Phil Cato, a proud USAF veteran and owner of Cato’s Custom Upholstery in Salt Lake City, Utah, has transformed a Chevrolet C/K truck into a stunning custom build, blending automotive interior craftsmanship with a pilot’s vision.
The truck, a member of the third-generation C/K family, originally a 1974 C20, underwent a comprehensive rebuild and modernization process under Phil’s expertise.
Externally, the truck sports a unique AvoCato green paint scheme, complemented by contrasting Akzo Nobel graphics, creating a one-of-a-kind appearance. Inside, the cabin features luxurious Moore & Giles leather upholstery, a Sparc Industries steering wheel, and New Vintage gauges, seamlessly blending comfort and style.
Underneath, the truck boasts a modernized suspension system with QA1 coilovers, ensuring optimal ride quality and handling. Powering the vehicle is a contemporary 6.2-liter V8 engine paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission, delivering ample performance and driving enjoyment.
Featured in Street Trucks magazine and showcased at SEMA, the C10, dubbed “Boogie Nights,” has garnered acclaim for its unique blend of classic aesthetics and modern functionality. Scheduled for auction at Barrett-Jackson Palm Beach, the C10 represents a testament to Phil’s craftsmanship and automotive passion.
