Mercedes-Benz captured the imagination of automotive enthusiasts over two years ago with the introduction of the Vision EQXX. Positioned as a research vehicle exploring the capabilities of electric cars, it aimed to achieve a groundbreaking range of over 1,000 kilometers on a single charge.
Since its unveiling in 2022, Mercedes-Benz has not only met but exceeded this ambitious target three times. The most recent achievement took place in the Middle East, highlighting the vehicle’s technological prowess and design ingenuity.
Central to the Vision EQXX’s success are its innovative technologies and aerodynamic design. With a drag coefficient of 0.17 and a weight of just 1,750 kg, it maximizes efficiency without compromising performance.
Powered by a 100 kWh, 900-volt battery and an electric motor generating 201 horsepower, the Vision EQXX demonstrates impressive range and efficiency. Solar cells integrated into the roof harness solar power to supplement the vehicle’s energy needs.
During its desert excursion, spanning over 1,010 kilometers, the Vision EQXX showcased its endurance and efficiency. Despite challenging conditions, it completed the journey with energy to spare, further validating its capabilities.
This milestone underscores Mercedes-Benz’s commitment to innovation and sustainability. As technologies from the Vision EQXX are integrated into future production models, it heralds a new era of electric mobility.
