During TX2K’s 2024 edition at the Texas Motorplex outside Dallas, ImportRace, a racing-focused YouTube channel, captured intense moments of adrenaline-filled action.
While TX2K is celebrated as the ‘Super Bowl’ of street car racing, it also witnesses unfortunate crashes, debunking the notion that straight-line acceleration is safer than other motorsports.
The Texas Motorplex, renowned as the world’s first single-pour, tension concrete track, hosted thrilling drag races, where ImportRace documented two noteworthy incidents.
In one video, a Ford Mustang and an Audi R8 battled for victory but veered out of control, resulting in the Audi crashing into a barrier. Despite the close call, no injuries were reported.
In another encounter, a Toyota Supra and a Nissan ‘Fairlady’ Z competed fiercely, with the Supra clinching victory but the Fairlady losing control and colliding with a barrier.
Again, fortunately, there were no injuries, and the driver was safely escorted from the vehicle. ImportRace’s coverage showcases both the excitement and risks inherent in high-speed racing events like TX2K.
