The Jeep Wrangler bids farewell to its V-8 engine option post the 2024 model year, marking the end of an era with a spectacular limited-edition model as its grand finale. The 2024 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 Final Edition is the ultimate iteration of the Rubicon 392 grade.
It boasts a range of enhancements, including an 8,000-pound Warn winch, a Mopar grille guard and rock sliders, and a half-inch suspension lift, elevating its ground clearance to 11.6 inches and water-fording ability to 34.5 inches.
Noteworthy additions include the Final Edition hood, front fender decals, and the Xtreme 35 Tire Package featuring 35-inch tires and bronze 17-inch beadlock-capable wheels.
Inside, the Rubicon 392 Final Edition exudes luxury with black nappa leather adorning its 12-way power front seats, accented with Mayan Gold stitching and Tupelo highlights. Special touches like a unique shifter medallion and tailgate information plate add to its exclusivity.
Jeep sweetens the deal with practical additions like a fold-out table, toolkit, and air compressor. Introduced in November 2020, the Wrangler Rubicon 392 packs a punch with its 6.4-liter V-8 engine, delivering an impressive 470 hp and 470 lb-ft of torque.
Paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission and a robust four-wheel-drive system boasting a 48:1 crawl ratio, the V-8 propels the Wrangler from 0-60 mph in just 4.5 seconds, with a quarter-mile time of 13.0 seconds.
While the Wrangler Rubicon 392 Final Edition marks the end of an era, parent company Stellantis is phasing out V-8 engines. Models like the Dodge Charger and Challenger bid adieu to their V-8 powerplants after the 2023 model year, making way for innovative replacements featuring turbo-6 and electric powertrains.
Production of the 2024 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 Final Edition is limited to 3,700 units, with 3,300 allocated for the U.S., 300 for Canada, and 100 for other markets. Prices for this exclusive model start at $101,890.
Despite bidding farewell to its V-8 option, the Wrangler lineup receives several updates for the 2024 model year, including an upgraded infotainment system, standard side airbags, and mechanical tweaks aimed at enhancing its off-road capabilities.
While the current JL Wrangler will remain in production for a few more years, its successor, the J70, is set to debut in 2028, featuring plug-in hybrid and all-electric powertrains.
