Suzuki Queensland has issued a recall for nearly 300 Suzuki Jimny vehicles manufactured between 2018 and 2019 due to a critical issue with their fuel pump impeller. This defect poses a significant safety risk as it could lead to unexpected engine stalling while driving.
According to the recall notice, the fuel pump impeller may swell due to a manufacturing defect, resulting in the fuel pump malfunctioning. If this occurs, it could cause the engine to stall suddenly, resulting in a loss of power.
Such an eventuality increases the risk of accidents, potentially causing serious injury or fatalities to vehicle occupants and other road users.
A total of 286 vehicles are affected by this recall. Suzuki Queensland has provided a list of vehicle identification numbers (VINs) of the affected units for reference. Owners of the affected vehicles are urged to contact a Suzuki dealership promptly to arrange for a free replacement of the fuel pump.
The recall underscores the importance of addressing safety issues promptly to mitigate potential hazards on the road. For any inquiries or further assistance regarding the recall process, individuals can reach out to Suzuki Queensland directly at (07) 3623 4900.
