The 2024 edition of TX2K, held at the Texas Motorplex outside Dallas from March 12 to 17, once again delivered heart-pounding moments for enthusiasts of drag and roll racing alike.
Positioned as the pinnacle event in street car racing, TX2K, sponsored by Summit Racing Equipment, unfolded at the iconic Texas Motorplex, renowned as the “world’s first single-pour, tension concrete track.”
Nestled in Ennis, Texas, just 40 miles south of downtown Dallas, this venue boasts a rich history, hosting events like TX2K and NHRA Fall Nats Stampede of Speed. TX2K24 showcased a blend of high-speed drags, breathtaking roll races, and record-breaking performances.
ImportRace, a dedicated racing channel on YouTube, provided comprehensive coverage of the event, capturing adrenaline-charged moments and accidents. Among the highlights was the setting of a new world record by a Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat, clocking an impressive 7.48-second pass, surpassing formidable competitors like the Demon and Challenger Hellcat.
Adding to the event’s allure was The Drag Race, a new YouTube channel, which entered deeply into racer interviews and quarter-mile dragstrip action. Notably, Fabricio, piloting a Calvo Motorsports-tuned 2014 Dodge Viper with a staggering 3,300 to 3,400 horsepower output, engaged in a thrilling roll race against a modded Audi R8. The Viper, propelled by triple turbochargers, showcased its prowess by overtaking its competitor, demonstrating raw power and speed.
