Fisker, the electric carmaker, has faced considerable financial challenges, recently prompting the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) to halt trading as the company’s stock price sank to a mere $0.09 per share.
Despite efforts to secure a strategic partnership with a major car manufacturer, Fisker’s future remains uncertain amidst these setbacks. However, amidst this turmoil, Fisker announced significant price cuts for its Ocean SUV lineup.
These reductions, effective from March 29, apply to all three trims: Sport, Ultra, and Extreme, for the 2023 model year. The entry-level Ocean Sport, previously priced at $38,999, will now sell for $24,999 after a substantial $14,000 reduction.
The mid-range Ocean Ultra, originally priced at $52,999, sees an $18,000 reduction to $34,999. The top-of-the-range Ocean Extreme, initially priced at $61,499, now costs $37,499 after a $24,000 cut.
While these price adjustments may seem appealing from a cost-performance perspective, potential buyers must consider other factors. Despite impressive features and performance metrics, the Ocean SUV has received mixed reviews, raising concerns about its long-term reliability and resale value amidst Fisker’s uncertain future.
