Mercedes-Benz introduces a new contender to its two-door lineup with the CLE, bridging the gap between the C-Class and E-Class convertibles and coupes in terms of size.
With a footprint that surpasses rivals like the Audi A5 and BMW 4 Series, the CLE offers superior space and nearly matches the wheelbase length of the esteemed 8 Series.
Boasting unmistakable Mercedes-Benz styling, both inside and out, the CLE features a spacious cockpit adorned with a large portrait-oriented infotainment system offering an array of functionalities, from TikTok to Zoom.
Constructed with premium materials, the CLE epitomizes luxury, with higher-tier models offering an enhanced experience. Starting at $56,500 in the US, the CLE showcases LED lights, 18-inch alloys, and the AMG Line Package, which adds sportier aesthetics and larger wheels.
The Pinnacle grade, available from $59,100, further raises the experience with additional features like a head-up display and augmented reality navigation. Under the hood, the CLE 300 4Matic is powered by a 2.0L four-cylinder engine producing 255 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque, augmented by mild-hybrid technology.
Meanwhile, the CLE 450 4Matic boasts a 3.0L turbo-six generating 375 hp and 369 lb-ft of torque, also benefiting from mild-hybrid assistance.
Mercedes-Benz clarifies that the CLE replaces both the C-Class and E-Class coupes and convertibles. However, enthusiasts continue to imagine virtual renditions of these beloved models, underscoring their enduring appeal despite the CLE’s commendable performance.
