One of the highlights at the 2024 New York International Auto Show was the debut of the all-new second-generation Nissan Kicks. Additionally, the Japanese automaker revealed an ambitious strategy for the upcoming years.
Among notable models like the Polestar 4, MINI Cooper S, Porsche Macan EV, Hyundai Tucson and Santa Cruz, Kia K4, and Genesis concepts, the bold Nissan Kicks subcompact crossover SUV made a statement. This indicates that traditional auto shows still have relevance in the automotive industry.
However, it remains to be seen how the little CUV fits into Nissan’s strategy, which includes introducing 30 new vehicles by 2027, including 16 hybrids and EVs, and seven all-new models for the North American markets.
According to rumors and digital car content creators, it’s unlikely that the Nissan Kicks will influence the upcoming release of Nissan’s Armada full-size SUV. Nissan is reportedly preparing the third generation of the Armada, especially since its luxury counterpart, the 2025 Infiniti QX80, has already been revealed.
Within the field of vehicular CGIs, conjecture surrounds the design of the brand-new Armada (Patrol), which is akin to the QX80 but has unique characteristics. While these ideas are hypothetical, they provide insight into what the upcoming full-size SUV might offer.
It’s speculated that Nissan might opt for the new 3.5-liter VR35DDTT twin-turbo V6 engine from the 2025 Infiniti QX80, departing from the older 5.6-liter VK56VD V8 engine.
