The NASCAR Xfinity Series surprises fans with an early move to The CW for the 2025 season, departing from the originally slated NBC coverage. This shift comes a year ahead of schedule, with The CW set to air all 33 races of the secondary NASCAR division, lasting until the 2031 season.
Despite the change, NBC will continue producing the races, employing their commentators, including Rick Allen, Jeff Burton, and Steve Letarte.
The CW’s coverage will kick off on September 20 at Bristol Motor Speedway, concluding the regular season before airing all playoff races. Dennis Miller, President of The CW Network, expresses gratitude to NASCAR and NBC for the opportunity to showcase the thrilling final races of the Xfinity Series early. The move aims to establish The CW as a new destination for live motorsports, promising racing fans an early preview of the series action.
NASCAR Senior Vice President Brian Herbst emphasizes the collaborative effort among media partners in delivering exciting live racing experiences. The Xfinity Series serves as a platform for emerging talent, with the majority of its champions since 2000 transitioning to success in the NASCAR Cup Series, highlighting the significance of the series in cultivating future stars.
