Touted as the “S-Class of electric vehicles,” the EQS Sedan faced challenges in the market, evidenced by its underwhelming sales figures. Despite its premium features, including a 400-volt electrical architecture and a luxurious interior, sales in the United States plummeted by 40.8 percent in 2023 compared to the previous year.
In response, Mercedes-Benz has revealed a mid-cycle facelift for the EQS Sedan, aimed at revitalizing interest in the model. While the EVA2 platform remains unchanged, the updated model features a higher net battery capacity, improved regenerative braking software, and refined interior elements.
Notable enhancements include chrome accents on the rear-passenger climate control vents and luxurious comfort pillows, adding a touch of elegance to the cabin. Additionally, the Pinnacle Trim with the Executive Interior Package offers unparalleled comfort and convenience features, elevating the driving experience.
Externally, the EQS Sedan receives a refreshed front end with a black panel grille and a standing star emblem, enhancing its presence on the road. With these updates, Mercedes aims to reignite interest in the EQS Sedan, positioning it as a leader in the luxury electric vehicle segment.
While pricing for the 2025 model has yet to be announced, prospective buyers can expect a premium starting price reflecting the model’s upscale features and performance capabilities. As Mercedes-Benz continues to innovate in the electric vehicle market, the EQS Sedan remains a symbol of luxury and sustainability.
