Kia has revealed the pricing for its 2025 K5 lineup, and there are some notable changes, particularly for the EX trim level. The starting price for the EX has seen a significant increase of $5000, now standing at $35,645. This adjustment reflects the addition of more standard features, particularly the inclusion of the $3600 Premium package as standard.
The substantial price increase for the 2025 K5 EX is directly linked to the integration of the previously optional Premium package as standard equipment. This comprehensive package offers a suite of upscale features, including a premium 12-speaker Bose sound system, a 10-way power-adjustable driver’s seat with memory settings, a sophisticated 360-degree camera system, and a luxurious heated steering wheel.
Additionally, the package incorporates advanced driver-assistance features such as front and rear parking sensors and a camera view that provides visibility into blind spots through the innovative 12.0-inch curved display, seamlessly integrated with the 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen. In addition to the substantial increase for the EX trim, other models in the 2025 Kia K5 lineup have also seen modest price hikes.
The entry-level LXs now start at $28,145, up by $1400 from the previous year. Similarly, the front-wheel-drive GT-Line experiences a $900 increase, now priced at $29,145, while the optional all-wheel-drive variant sees a $1600 bump. Notably, the sporty GT model’s starting price is now $35,145, marking a $2000 increase compared to the previous year.
However, despite the higher pricing, the GT now offers more affordability than the EX, starting at $500 less. For those opting for the 2025 Kia K5 GT, the availability of the $4400 GT1 package allows for additional customization, offering features previously reserved for the EX, such as ventilated front seats and a digital key.
The GT model distinguishes itself as the sole variant to feature the robust 290-hp 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, coupled with an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. Furthermore, the 2025 K5 lineup introduces a new naturally aspirated 2.5-liter engine, delivering 191 horsepower and 181 pound-feet of torque.
While this represents an increase of 11 horsepower compared to the outgoing turbocharged 1.6-liter engine, there is a slight sacrifice of 14 pound-feet of torque. All models continue to be paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Enthusiasts can expect the 2025 Kia K5 to arrive at dealerships in the second quarter of this year, offering a blend of enhanced features, refined performance, and modern design elements to cater to diverse consumer preferences.
