Although traditional minivans have faced competition from high-riding vehicles, some car manufacturers continue to produce them. Hyundai’s Custo, popular in Southeast Asia, has been in production since 2021 in China, Vietnam, and Taiwan.
Built on the N3 platform, shared with other Hyundai and Kia models, the Custo features two straight-four engine options paired with front-wheel drive and an automatic transmission. The 1.6L turbo engine delivers 168 horsepower, while the 2.0L engine offers 233 horsepower.
While not available in Western markets where SUVs dominate, rendering artists have imagined a mid-cycle refresh for the Custo, drawing inspiration from Hyundai’s latest design language. Although the model’s availability in Western markets remains uncertain, it raises questions about potential preferences for its design and features.
