The Cadillac Optiq has finally made its debut, first online before showing up at the Beijing Auto Show later this month. Although it got delayed a bit, we can now see both the exterior and interior of this new car.

The interior of the Optiq shares some features with the larger Lyriq, like the steering wheel and curved display for the digital cluster. But there are differences too. For instance, there’s a cool horizontal trim element in the center that can light up with ambient lighting.

This matches the illuminated horizontal lines on the door cards. Below the instrument panel, instead of having closed storage, there’s an open cubby under the HVAC controls. Plus, there are two USB-C ports nearby, so passengers can easily charge their devices.

The infotainment rotary dial and cupholder area look similar to those in the Lyriq, but the armrest between the seats has a different design because it’s thinner.

Outside, animated clips on Cadillac’s Chinese website show the unique U-shaped daytime running light pattern on the Optiq.

The Optiq shares the same BEV3 platform as the Chevrolet Equinox EV and Buick Electra. In China, it’s listed as having similar dimensions to the Equinox EV, but it’s a bit shorter and narrower than the Lyriq. Despite being smaller, it still weighs quite a bit and can go up to 112 miles per hour.

In China, there will be two Optiq trims, both with a single electric motor. One trim will have 201 horsepower, while the other will have 241 horsepower. It’s expected that there will be an all-wheel-drive option in the U.S. with similar power to the Chevrolet Blazer EV.

The Optiq is set to arrive in the U.S. later this year as a 2025 model, and we’ll learn more about it at the Beijing show on April 25th.
