BYD’s premium brand, Denza, is making waves with its latest offering, the sleek and powerful electric wagon known as the Z9 GT. With a staggering 710kW of power, this model sets its sights directly on Porsche’s flagship grand tourers. Drawing inspiration from the Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo, the Denza Z9 GT features a striking shooting brake-style body, exuding elegance and performance.
Powered by three electric motors, it boasts impressive specifications, as disclosed in a filing with China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT). The front motor generates 230kW, while the two rear motors combine for an additional 480kW, all fueled by a BYD Blade lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery. Images from the filing reveal the Z9 GT in all its glory, showcasing its sleek profile, bold lighting elements, and aerodynamic design.
With dimensions measuring 5180mm in length, 1990mm in width, and 1500mm in height, it rides on a 3125mm wheelbase, positioning it firmly in the domain of premium electric vehicles. While the pricing remains undisclosed, photos of the Z9 GT undergoing testing in Europe suggest a six-figure price tag, hinting at its luxury positioning.
Notably, a pre-production model was spotted alongside petrol-powered counterparts like the Porsche Panamera and Ferrari GTC4Lusso during testing in Germany. As for its availability in markets like Australia, details are yet to be confirmed, leaving enthusiasts eagerly awaiting further announcements from Denza and BYD.
