Nissan’s Qashqai has been a consistent success story for the brand over the past two decades, prompting the company to prioritize keeping it fresh and appealing. The latest iteration of the Qashqai unveils notable updates, starting with a redesigned front featuring narrower LED headlights, daytime running lights, and a trapezoidal radiator grille reminiscent of Nissan’s electric crossover, the Ariya.
The rear sees interior design changes to the lights, while the exterior offers customization options with satin chrome or gloss black elements, newly designed wheels ranging from 17 to 20 inches, and a choice of 13 colors, including three new ones.
Inside, subtle yet noticeable changes enhance the Qashqai’s appeal. Higher-tier models now feature Alcantara accents on the dashboard, door panels, center armrest, and parts of the center console, along with new seat upholstery and stitching options. The Qashqai N-Design offers black quilted leather seats with Alcantara inserts, while standard LED ambient lighting adds ambiance, starting from the N-Connecta trim.
A significant addition to the updated Qashqai is its integration with Google apps, marking the first European Nissan model to incorporate built-in Google functionality. Features include Google Maps for navigation and access to the Google Play store directly from the infotainment system. Furthermore, drivers can interact with the vehicle using Google Assistant, enhancing convenience and connectivity on the road.
Improvements extend to safety and convenience features, with Nissan enhancing the Around View Monitor system. Now equipped with four cameras, it offers a more detailed ‘3D’ view of the surroundings and the ability to virtually see ‘through the bonnet,’ aiding precision parking. The system can also save parking space locations for future use, streamlining the parking process.
While the Qashqai receives numerous updates, its powertrain options remain consistent with the pre-facelift model. This includes a 1.3-liter turbocharged petrol engine with mild hybrid technology, available in 140 or 158 PS outputs, with the latter offering an Xtronic automatic transmission and optional all-wheel drive.
The E-Power drive combines a 190 PS electric motor with a petrol engine acting as an onboard generator, providing power to the front wheels via a continuously variable transmission.
