The 2024 GMC Sierra EV Denali Edition 1 will be available for purchase this summer, and GMC has some good news. They just announced that it will have more range and a lower price than they first said.
This announcement follows similar news from the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV a few weeks ago. Instead of driving for 400 miles on a full charge, the Sierra EV can go for 440 miles, according to GM’s estimate. That’s 10% more than they first promised. Not only will it go further, but GM also made it stronger since they first showed it in 2022. Now, it can tow up to 10,000 pounds, which is 500 pounds more than before. And it can carry up to 1,450 pounds, which is 150 pounds more than before.
The best part is the price of the Sierra EV. It will now cost $99,495, including the $1,995 charge for delivery, instead of the $108,695 GMC first said. To compare, the Silverado EV First-Edition RST, which is also a fully loaded launch model, costs $3,000 less than the GMC. But the Sierra has extra features like four-wheel steering, CrabWalk, and a fancier cabin, which makes it worth the extra money.
GMC says its dealers are talking to people who reserved the Edition 1 version, helping them turn their reservations into actual orders. If you want to know everything about the Sierra EV, you can check out our first story about it.
