Inspired by design elements from the 1965 Ford Mustang GT, this limited-edition package is exclusive to 1,965 units of the 2025 Mustang GT Premium model, available in fastback coupe or convertible variants.
Officially celebrating its 60th anniversary, the iconic Ford Mustang refuses to fade into retirement, instead launching its seventh generation last summer with an array of variants, including EcoBoost, GT, and Dark Horse, encompassing both two-door fastback coupe and convertible body styles.
While anticipation builds for the upcoming Mustang GTD, set to redefine performance with supercar-like capabilities, the base EcoBoost Fastback offers an enticing starting MSRP of under $31,000, while the 480 to 486-hp Mustang GT, equipped with the 5.0-liter Coyote V8, is priced from under $42,000.
Starting from $46,480 for the coupe and $51,980 for the convertible in the 2024 model year, pricing for the 2025 Mustang GT Premium is anticipated to follow suit. Yet, availability of the 60th Anniversary package remains scarce, limited to just 1,965 units, emphasizing collectability over widespread distribution.
While sales figures for the 2024 Ford Mustang reflected a slight dip compared to the previous year, totaling 13,707 units, the allure of the Mustang 60th Anniversary package lies in its design homage to the original 1965 model.
Stefan Taylor, senior designer, elucidates, “The design draws inspiration from the clean silhouette of the original car, meticulously incorporating elements such as fender badges and wheel center caps. Our aim was to evoke the essence of the ’65 while retaining the modern identity of the Mustang as a contemporary sports car.”
Key features of the package include bespoke 60th Anniversary badges on the fenders and trunk lid, reminiscent of the 1965 Mustang cloisonné emblems, exclusive 20-inch wheels finished in Dark Gravity Gray with Vermillion Red accents, and retro-themed stamped aluminum center caps.
Interior options include Space Gray, Carmine Red, or Black Onyx upholstery, inviting enthusiasts to customize their Mustang 60th Anniversary edition to their preferences. The package will be available for order later this year, with sales commencing in the fourth quarter, accompanied by pricing details closer to the launch date.
