Following the discontinuation of the Holden brand in Australia, General Motors has introduced various vehicles through its GMSV (General Motors Specialty Vehicles) Division. Now, the automotive giant is set to launch the 2025 GMC Yukon in Australia.
Yes, you read that correctly: the GMC Yukon will be available in Australia in a right-hand drive configuration. GMSV recently shared images of the new model on social media, accompanied by remarks from GM Australia & New Zealand’s Managing Director, Jess Bala, confirming its launch in the first half of next year.
“The GMC Yukon Denali has been at Premoso for a few months as we start gearing up the remanufacturing process,” Bala stated. “It’s exciting to expand the GMSV lineup with another vehicle, offering eight seats and excellent towing capability. Vehicle development post-remanufacturing is progressing well, and we’re on track to deliver the new model to customers in the first half of 2025.”
While details regarding the powertrain lineup for Australia are scarce, the current lineup in the United States includes two gasoline engines and a diesel option. The American lineup comprises a 5.3L V8 with 355 hp, a 6.2L V8 with 420 hp, and a 3.0-liter inline-six diesel with 277 horsepower. Reports suggest the gasoline engines will be retained, with a potential upgrade for the diesel variant.
The 2025 GMC Yukon is anticipated to receive updates to its interior, likely inspired by its Chevrolet counterparts, the Suburban and Tahoe. This may include a large infotainment system and digital instrument cluster, along with revised trim options and upholstery. The vehicle is expected to debut in the coming months and hit the market shortly thereafter as a 2025 model.
