Aston Martin’s DBX SUV has encountered yet another setback, with a second recall within days due to a potential fire hazard. Aston Martin Australia has initiated a recall for 59 DBX units due to a defect in the oil cooler hose, posing a risk of vehicle fires. In the recall notice, Aston Martin highlighted the manufacturing flaw in the oil cooler lines, which could rupture, leading to a sudden loss of oil pressure.
This could result in engine stalling or oil leakage, potentially igniting a vehicle fire if exposed to an ignition source. The carmaker emphasized the potential safety hazards, including accidents causing harm to vehicle occupants or other road users.
The affected vehicles, numbering 59 and manufactured between 2022 and 2023, have been identified through Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) listed in the attached documents.
Aston Martin reassures owners of affected DBX models that they will be contacted via mail to arrange an appointment with their nearest dealer. The necessary replacement of fasteners will be conducted free of charge as part of the recall process. It’s important to note that this recall is distinct from the previous day’s recall involving 217 DBXs due to a fuse box cable fixing fault, which posed risks of power loss and compromised assisted steering.
