The Jaguar E-Pace, slated for discontinuation after the 2024 model year, has been subject to a safety recall due to issues with its passenger airbag modules. Approximately 2,400 units produced for the US market have been affected by this recall, with passenger airbag deployment door weakening cuts failing to meet specifications.
Jaguar Land Rover initiated an investigation into this issue following reports of abnormal airbag deployments from the supplier, leading to the identification of the inadequately weakened panel as the root cause of the problem. As a result, all potentially affected vehicles will be recalled, with dealers instructed to replace suspect passenger airbag modules and associated components.
Notification letters will be sent to owners, and they can also check the recall status by running their vehicle’s VIN on the automaker’s website. This proactive approach aims to address the safety concerns promptly and ensure the well-being of E-Pace owners.
Manufactured between November 11, 2020, and August 31, 2022, by Magna Steyr in Austria, the E-Pace joins Jaguar’s lineup of vehicles with various specifications and pricing options. Despite the recall, Jaguar remains committed to providing quality vehicles and ensuring customer satisfaction through prompt and effective resolution of safety issues.
