At the 2024 Beijing International Motor Show, Mazda revealed two new products: the EZ-6, likely to be named EZ-60 upon its Chinese release, and the Arata concept.

The 2024 Mazda Arata is currently a concept car but hints at a future production model, particularly for the Chinese market. While its global availability remains uncertain, there are speculations about its potential launch outside China if demand warrants.

The Arata is not positioned to replace Mazda’s existing SUV lineup but is expected to offer plug-in hybrid and battery-electric powertrains, similar to the EZ-6. With its size comparable to the Tesla Model Y, the Arata is poised to compete in the electric crossover segment.

While technical details remain undisclosed, there are suggestions that the Arata concept may share similarities with Changan’s Deepal S7, given Changan’s involvement as Mazda’s local joint-venture partner.

Visually, the Arata concept embodies Mazda’s KODO design language, featuring a sleek profile with modern design elements such as slim lighting units, hidden door handles, and aerodynamic enhancements.

The Arata concept’s dimensions place it in the same league as the Tesla Model Y, making it a compelling option for consumers seeking a stylish and technologically advanced electric crossover.
