Defender has transformed from just a part of Land Rover to its own brand under JLR. Their first new SUV after becoming independent is the Octa, set to arrive in July 2024.
We’ve seen glimpses of the Octa before, but now, new images from Defender give us a clearer picture. It’s tall and wide, standing out with a bigger grille, extra air intakes in the front bumper, and a taller hood. The wide wheel arches hide a wider track, and it rides on specific wheels with off-road tires. Plus, there are red tow hooks and sturdy skid plates underneath.
The Octa is built for serious off-roading. It comes with the 6D Dynamics suspension system, which keeps the car stable while increasing wheel movement. Engineers tested it in tough places like Dubai deserts and Moab’s off-road courses.
But it’s not just for off-road adventures; the Octa is also designed for speed on regular roads. Its twin-turbocharged V8 engine ensures it’s fast, and the 6D Dynamics system improves its performance on paved roads. Prototypes were even tested on the famous Nürburgring track in Germany.
The Octa will be introduced on July 3, 2024, but a select group of clients can order one before that. There will only be a limited number available in the first year, so getting your hands on one might be tricky at first.
