At the 2024 Beijing Auto Show, the Genesis G80 EV Magma Concept made its grand debut, and it’s quite a sleek sport sedan. But don’t mix it up with the G80 Magma revealed at the NY Auto Show – that one runs on gas and is already being sold in the Middle East. This new Magma, on the other hand, is electric and just a concept for now.

Despite being a concept, the Magma Concept looks like it could hit the streets soon. It shares many looks with its gas-powered counterpart but manages to make its own statement. Its Acme Blue paint is brand new, chosen specifically for its debut in China. Genesis says it’s inspired by blazing blue flames, symbolizing China’s ongoing progress and the evolving nature of the brand’s Magma program.

The blue paint isn’t the only eye-catching feature. The Magma Concept boasts a more aggressive front grille, wider fenders, large 21-inch wheels (with wider rear tires), a lower stance, big lip spoiler, rear diffuser, and a bumper-integrated fog lamp for that race car vibe.

In terms of performance upgrades, Genesis mentions a suspension tuned for better road grip and cornering, along with larger, ventilated brakes and lightweight wheels to improve airflow. However, there are no specifics about the powertrain.

While there are no interior photos yet, Genesis promises a luxurious cabin with Alcantara, quilted leather, and plenty of carbon fiber, all matching the bold exterior.

Alongside the concept, Genesis revealed an updated long-wheelbase version of its Electrified G80, exclusively for the Chinese market. It features a unique blue paint called “Vision Blue” and a lavish interior with quilted blue leather. The extended wheelbase gives it a more upscale look, akin to the G90. Although it won’t be available in the U.S., it’s still a sight to behold.
