Alfa Romeo is once again in the spotlight, this time with its Junior model. Initially named the Milano, a dispute with the Italian government led to a rebranding. Now, the subcompact crossover returns with a new body style.

However, unlike some competitors who have ventured into open-top versions, like Volkswagen, Land Rover, and Nissan with their T-Roc, Range Rover Evoque, and Murano, respectively, Alfa Romeo takes a different approach. The Alfa Romeo Junior Cabriolet emerges as a digital concept, courtesy of kdesignag on Instagram. This digital transformation gives the crossover a convertible makeover, enhancing its aesthetic appeal.

The virtual redesign is evident with the removal of the roof behind the front pillars and the addition of a digitally-stowed rag top in a special compartment behind the seats. Additionally, the hypothetical model features two doors instead of four, with elongated front doors for easier access to the rear seats.

Despite these changes, much of the Junior’s design remains intact, including the front and rear fascias, bumpers, side skirts, mirrors, and wheels. Rendered in a glossy red hue, the Cabriolet maintains the crossover’s distinctive appearance, with a slight alteration seen in the red look of the A-pillars.

While enthusiasts may anticipate further renderings of the Alfa Romeo Junior, including a Quadrifoglio variant, the immediate offering includes an electric variant in the Ellettrica Veloce trim level. Boasting a zero-emission powertrain with 237 hp, alongside mild-hybrid powertrains and optional all-wheel drive, the Junior aims to appeal to a diverse range of customers.

Under the stewardship of Stellantis, Alfa Romeo employs the CMP construction platform, which is shared with other models like the Jeep Avenger and Peugeot 208. With orders already open for select versions, the Junior is set to debut in various European markets soon.
