Representing a departure from traditional internal combustion engines, this zero-emission variant showcases Mercedes’ commitment to innovation in the luxury SUV segment.
Based on the renowned G-Class platform, the G 580 with EQ Technology features a four-motor drivetrain delivering 579 horsepower and 859 pound-feet of torque. With a 116 kWh battery pack shared with the EQS sedan, it boasts a claimed range of 292 miles on the WLTP cycle.
Exterior modifications include a backlit grille reminiscent of AMG styling cues, a redesigned front bumper with additional lights, and pronounced wheel arches. The interior is expected to offer luxurious appointments and advanced technology, consistent with the G-Class’ reputation for opulence.
Pricing for the G 580 with EQ Technology in Germany starts at €142,622 ($152,507), positioning it between the G 500 and the AMG G 63 variants. Additionally, an Edition One variant is available at a higher price point.
