DMS Automotive in Southampton has taken the BMW M8 Competition Gran Coupe, GT 63 S 4-Door Coupe, and Panamera Turbo to new heights through extensive tuning, as showcased in a recent video. Hosted by Daniel Hohmeyer of carwow Deutschland, the presentation explores the specifications and performance of these enhanced vehicles.

Among the trio, the Panamera Turbo emerges as the heaviest, weighing in at 2,080 kilograms. Following DMS Automotive’s software tuning, its twin turbocharged V8 engine now delivers a formidable 730 horsepower and 1,000 Nm of torque, channeled through a PDK transmission.

In comparison, the GT 63 S 4-Door Coupe matches the Panamera Turbo in power output but surpasses it in torque, boasting 1,050 Nm. Despite being lighter at 2,045 kilograms, this model remains closely matched in performance.

The BMW M8 Competition Gran Coupe, with its 800 horsepower and 900 Nm of torque derived from a 4.4-liter engine, stands out with an additional 60 horsepower compared to its counterparts. This power advantage, coupled with its weight of 1,995 kilograms, contributes to its impressive straight-line performance.

Through a series of drag races, the M8 Competition Gran Coupe demonstrated its dominance, securing victories in two out of four races. Despite its weight disadvantage, the Panamera Turbo delivered a commendable performance, finishing third with a best time of 11.0 seconds.

In rolling-start races over a half-mile distance, the M8 Competition Gran Coupe outperformed the competition, consistently besting the GT 63 S 4-Door Coupe. However, the Panamera Turbo redeemed itself in emergency braking tests, showcasing impressive stopping power despite its heft.

While BMW, Mercedes-AMG, and Porsche are renowned for producing high-performance vehicles, the ability to achieve sub-11-second quarter-mile times through software tuning alone is noteworthy. Despite the considerable price difference between the M8 Competition Gran Coupe and its competitors, its superior performance highlights its value proposition in the luxury sports car segment.
