It’s been a while since Italdesign, owned by Lamborghini, showed a concept car for off-road adventures. The last time was in 2013 with the Parcour concept. But even before that, in 1980, they created the Panda 4×4, which later became the Lancia Delta. Now, they’ve revealed the Quintessenza concept at the Beijing Motor Show. This car is part fastback GT, part pickup truck, and it’s all-electric.

Italdesign made this car thinking about young people who live in the city but also love nature. The Quintessenza is all about flexibility, freedom, sportiness, and having the best of both worlds.

In the city, it’s like a sports car, with space for four people. The front part of the car adjusts to be more aerodynamic when driving fast. The doors open in a unique way, and there’s a big trunk in the front for groceries or luggage. Inside, everything feels futuristic, with controls projected onto eco-friendly fabric panels.

But when you want to go off-road, the Quintessenza transforms. The front part of the car lifts up to clear obstacles, and it rides on big wheels with tough tires. The back can be turned into a pickup truck bed, and the seats can swivel to face backward for stargazing. There’s even a mini bar and fridge in the back for some wilderness refreshments.

The design of the car is sleek, with cool lights and a lightweight body. Underneath, it has a powerful electric engine that can go really fast and for a long distance.

For now, you can only see this car at car shows. But with other car companies also showing off similar concepts, we might see more cars like this on the roads soon.
