The Ford F-150 Raptor R emerges as a formidable beast straight off the production line. Yet, for some, its raw power may not be enough. Now, the model is poised for production, boasting an aggressive facade and unparalleled power.
With a staggering 1,043 horsepower, the newly christened VelociRaptor (formerly F-150 Raptor R) commands the road with more than 40 percent additional power than its factory counterpart. This brute force is generated by a 5.2-liter supercharged V8, enhanced by Hennessey’s craftsmanship.
To achieve this monumental power output, Hennessey engineered a 3.8-liter supercharger, along with upgrades like high-flow air induction, billet fuel rails, and an air/oil separator system. The V8’s management calibration was also fine-tuned for optimal performance.
When it initially rolled out of the factory gates in Dearborn, Michigan, the modified truck was already attention-worthy with 700 horsepower and 640 pound-feet of torque. But now, it has transcended into supercar territory, boasting lightning-quick acceleration from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.1 seconds and covering the quarter mile in 11.4 seconds at 122 mph. According to John Hennessey, the founder and CEO, it’s akin to the Porsche 911 Turbo S of trucks.
Recently, Hennessey dyno-tested a modified 2023 Ford F-150 Raptor R, revealing a staggering 1,000 horsepower, with 782.87 horsepower transmitted directly to the rear wheels. Enthusiasts eager to acquire this beast can place orders through authorized Ford dealers or directly with Hennessey.
However, they should act swiftly, as only 500 units of this super truck will be produced, and according to Hennessey, they’re selling rapidly. While pricing details remain undisclosed, fortunate buyers of the go-anywhere VelociRaptorR 1000 Super Truck will enjoy a three-year/36,000-mile warranty.
