Rare Porsche vehicles flooded the streets of New York City, drenching them in purple excitement ahead of the 2024 Met Gala, the pinnacle of fashion events. Leading the pack was the all-electric Macan, making its debut as the gala’s inaugural electric car. VIP guests, not affiliated with Porsche, had the exclusive opportunity to ride in the zero-emission crossover.

These unique Porsche cars paraded through Manhattan, showcasing select entries from the Ingram Family collection. Among them were the Viola Purple Metallic 2024 911 Dakar, a 2023 GT3 RS, and a 2019 911 Speedster in the iconic Porsche purple known as the Vesuvio. Yet, it was the lilac 1978 911 Safari that stole the spotlight.

The festivities continued at Soho House New York, where actor Barry Keoghan hosted an event attended by stars, featuring a live performance by British singer-songwriter RAYE. At Soho House, the Macan EV graced an Electric Garden art installation, inspired by the gala’s theme, “The Garden of Time.”

Meanwhile, the Turbo variant delivers 630 horsepower and 833 pound-feet of torque, with a slightly shorter range of 14 miles. Measuring 188.3 inches in length, 76.2 inches in width, and 63.8 inches in height, with a wheelbase of 113.8 inches, the Macan EV offers ample space for VIP guests.

As for Lewis Hamilton’s mode of transportation to the Metropolitan Museum of Art, details are undisclosed. However, he previously enjoyed the Mercedes-AMG GT R alongside supermodel Kylie Jenner before the Miami Grand Prix.
