Fisker has made more changes to help sell its remaining 2023 Ocean Extreme and Ultra models. They’ve decided to drop the $2,438 Destination and Handling fee instead of lowering prices even more. This is good news for buyers because they can get an Ocean for less money. But it also shows that Fisker really wants to sell these cars and make money.
In March, Fisker reduced prices by a lot. They cut the price of the Extreme from $61,999 to $37,499. They also lowered the price of the Sport by $14,000, making it $24,999. That’s a great deal, especially compared to a mid-level Corolla Hybrid.
All the Sport models are sold out now. Even though there are risks with buying from Fisker right now, people are still interested because of the low prices. Fisker hopes that by removing the destination charge, more people will buy their cars. The Ocean Extreme is now a really good deal at $26,438 off, but should you buy one?
That’s up to you, but there are some concerns. The company that makes Fisker cars, Magna, stopped making Oceans. The CEO of Magna thinks they might not start making them again, which is worrying. Also, Fisker is dealing with some lawsuits, including one that could cost them $13 million.
Despite these challenges, Fisker is staying positive. They’ve added three new dealer locations, bringing the total to fifteen in the US. Hopefully, they’ll still have cars to sell through these dealers in the future. But last week, Fisker’s Austrian division filed for bankruptcy protection.
Some experts aren’t optimistic about Fisker’s future. They don’t think anyone will want to buy Fisker or invest in them right now. It’s likely they’ll have to file for bankruptcy. Fisker did say they got another $3,456,000 from an investor as a loan, with the chance to get up to $7.5 million.
