The 2025 Honda Civic has arrived, marking a mid-cycle refresh for the 11th generation. The big news is the introduction of the Civic Hybrid, but there are also changes to the design and technology that make it worth considering.

Let’s talk about the hybrid powertrain first. It’s similar to what we’ve seen in the redesigned Accord and CR-V, with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine and two electric motors. However, in the Civic, it’s a bit less powerful, with an estimated output of 200 horsepower and 232 pound-feet of torque.

While we’re not sure about the exact fuel economy yet, Honda estimates it will be around 50 miles per gallon combined. You can get the hybrid in both sedan and hatchback versions without sacrificing passenger or cargo space. Unfortunately, this means the 1.5-liter turbo engine and manual transmission options are no longer available.

If you opt for the hybrid, you can choose between Sport and Sport Touring trims. These models have unique tuning for a sportier feel, along with special tires. The Sport Touring Hybrid also comes with added noise-canceling features and customizable drive modes.

For those who prefer a traditional engine, the base LX and Sport trims still offer the 2.0-liter four-cylinder.

The 2025 Civic has a fresh design with a sporty front grille and darker taillights. Hybrid models have added body-colored accents. Inside, the Sport Touring Hybrid gets an upgraded 9-inch touchscreen with Google Built-In software for navigation and voice control. Other updates include new interior colors, USB-C ports, and blind spot monitoring for Sport models.

The pricing will be announced closer to the on-sale date, with sedans arriving first and hatchbacks following later. Honda expects the hybrid model to account for 40% of sales, so you’ll likely see plenty of them at dealerships soon.
