Velocity’s new package adds a motorized soft top and a color-matching interior to the late 1960s Mustang convertible design. The updated soft top, available in brown, tan, black, and cream, uses electric motors and hydraulics for easy operation and can be paired with a matching leather interior.
Under the hood, the Gen III Coyote 5.0 engine delivers 460 horsepower and 420 pound-feet of torque, with a choice of a 10R80 ten-speed automatic or a T-56 six-speed manual transmission powering the rear wheels.
Velocity’s upgrades include a proprietary serpentine system, custom headers, and a stainless steel exhaust with Borla mufflers to enhance the engine’s sound.
The car is built on a new Roadster Shop Mustang SPEC chassis, featuring rack-and-pinion power steering, a front sway bar, and SPEC-independent front suspension. A four-link rear suspension with adjustable Fox coil overs (front and rear) improves handling.
The Mustang sports a Ford 9-inch rear axle with a 3.73 gear ratio and 17-inch aluminum alloys with 255/45ZR17 Continental Extreme Contact Sport 02 tires. Baer four-piston brake calipers with 11-inch rotors and a Bosch Electric iBooster provide stopping power.
Velocity also made exterior enhancements, offering custom BASF Glasurit paint colors and optional painted racing stripes. A vented hood with marker lights helps keep the engine cool, and customers can choose a color-matching painted firewall and chrome bumpers.
The interior retains a nostalgic feel but includes modern features for comfort. Procar bucket seats are in the front, and a fixed
bench seat is in the back. The car includes air conditioning, electric windows, a touchscreen infotainment system, and a premium sound system.
Velocity’s engineers developed a unique system to seamlessly integrate the motorized soft top, making it user-friendly and reliable. The soft top is insulated for noise reduction and weather protection.
