Polestar is changing the way it names its cars

Polestar is changing the way it names its cars. It’s going to name each new model with a different number, like how Apple names its iPhones each year. A Polestar representative told Auto Express about this new plan. They said the next model after the Polestar 2 will be called the Polestar 7.

The company is introducing its new Polestar 3 and Polestar 4 electric vehicles, making it have three different models for sale, and more are on the way. So far, Polestar has been giving its models numbers in order, so it’ll be interesting to see how this new system works and if it could confuse customers.

About a month ago, Polestar said the Polestar 2 will become the Polestar 7. This change will come with big improvements, including better performance and faster charging times, because it will use Geely’s Sustainable Experience Architecture.

Following this logic, the next versions of the Polestar 3 will be called the Polestar 8, and the next versions of the Polestar 4 will be called the Polestar 9. But it might get confusing after a few versions. What will happen when Polestar introduces a new type of car? This naming system works for the iPhone because there’s only one model, but it might not work well for different types of cars.

Polestar has plans for more new models in the future. They’re working on a sedan that will compete with the Porsche Taycan and a sports car to rival the Tesla Roadster. But before those, we’ll see the Polestar 3 this summer and the Polestar 4 later this year. The Polestar 4 will be the most powerful model yet, but the Polestar 3 won’t be weak either, with nearly 500 horsepower and 620 lb-ft of torque.

However, there’s a problem with the naming system. Even though the Polestar 4 is named higher than the Polestar 3, it’s actually smaller. So, in the future, will new models still be named higher than the Polestar 3, or will they be named lower? We’ve asked Polestar for more information, and we’ll update this article if we learn anything new.
