The Bugatti Chiron is almost done being made, but there are still some Super Sport models being finished at the factory in Molsheim. The newest one that they just showed off pays respect to Jean Bugatti, the son of the founder. He made a famous car called the Type 55 Super Sport, which was yellow and black. There were only 38 of these cars ever made, and the one they used for inspiration belongs to a museum in France.
The Type 55 Super Sport was made in the 1930s and could go really fast, up to 112 mph, because of its powerful engine. The Bugatti Chiron Super Sport ’55 1 of 1′ was made in response to a customer in the Middle East who wanted something special.
To make the new Chiron look like the old Type 55, they did a lot of things. They painted it in a special way to make it look like the number “55” was fading from the front to the back. They also added black lines and stripes to make it look similar to the old car.
On the inside, they added lots of details to remind people of the Type 55. They used yellow accents and put Jean Bugatti’s signature on the door sills.
People are excited to see what Bugatti will make next after the Chiron. There have been some leaks and small announcements about a new hypercar with a V16 engine, but we’ll have to wait until next month for the big reveal. Until then, we can enjoy looking at special versions of the Chiron.
