Jeep’s electrification journey continues to gain momentum, especially with the upcoming releases in Australia. While the U.S. sees the 2024 Jeep Compass Sport starting at $25,900 and the Trailhawk at $33,895, both featuring a 2.0-liter turbo inline-four engine that produces 200 hp and 221 lb-ft of torque paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive, Jeep Australia is gearing up for significant updates.

The Australian market will soon welcome the all-new Jeep Compass e-Hybrid and 4xe models, following the successful introduction of the Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe and the Avenger EV.

Despite being a mild hybrid, the Compass e-Hybrid can operate in electric mode at low speeds (below 15 kph) and during parking. The intelligent system seamlessly transitions between fully electric, hybrid, and internal combustion modes based on driving conditions.

It offers a total output of 129 hp and 162 lb-ft of torque and boasts a greater towing capacity than the 2.4-liter Tigershark model, rated at 1,450 kg (3,197 pounds). For those looking for enhanced power and performance, the all-wheel drive Jeep Compass 4xe offers an impressive option.

Available in Limited and Summit trims, it boasts a turbocharged 1.3-liter engine coupled with a six-speed automatic transmission and dual electric motors. These are powered by an 11.4 kWh battery, delivering a combined output of 236 hp, with 177 hp from the internal combustion engine and 59 hp from the electric motors.

Introducing the Compass 4xe, a vehicle engineered for both performance and sustainability. With its impressive acceleration, it swiftly reaches 100 kph in just 7.3 seconds and can hit speeds of up to 200 kph. What sets it apart is its electric capability, reaching speeds of 130 kph solely on electric power. Perfect for eco-conscious drivers, it boasts an EV range of over 47 km, ensuring you can go the distance without relying solely on traditional fuel.
