Suzuki has added a new version to its cute little car, the Hustler Kei car. This new version is called Tough Wild, and it’s designed to look more rugged. Suzuki hopes people who live in cities but love adventure will like it. They’ve made some changes to how it looks compared to the regular Hustler. But first, let’s talk about what’s under the hood.
There are two types of engines, but even the more powerful one might not be strong enough for American drivers. The smaller engine makes 48 horsepower, and the turbocharged one makes 63. They’ve added mild-hybrid technology to make it use less fuel. The regular one can go around 58.8 miles on a gallon of gas.
You can choose to have the car with either front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, but there’s only one type of transmission available. Suzuki plans to make an all-electric version of this car in the future, but they haven’t said when.
Even though it has all-wheel drive, the Hustler Tough Wild isn’t as good off-road as the Jimny. But it can handle more than most Kei cars. It looks cute, with its funny shape and design.
The Tough Wild version has some special touches to make it look like a mini Land Cruiser. It has two big round headlights and a black grille at the front. The bumpers are matte black and have fog lights, a fake metal plate, and a shiny chrome bar across them.
The bumpers match with the black wheel arch trims. The car also has shiny black parts on the side mirrors, door handles, and other places. There are fewer color options for the Tough Wild compared to the regular Hustler. Inside, the car has a small but funky dashboard with three round parts. One has the speedometer, another has the touchscreen for the radio, and the third one can fold down to become a tray or extra storage space. The car has air conditioning too.
The Tough Wild version has green details inside and special cloth seats. The back seats can fold down to make more room for stuff, and it looks like you can even sleep in there if you want. The price for the Tough Wild starts at ¥1,760,000 ($11,260) for the basic model with front-wheel drive. The more expensive model with all-wheel drive and a turbocharged engine costs ¥2,021,800 ($12,900). Sadly, this car won’t be sold in America because we usually like bigger cars, but it’s still pretty cool!
