Introducing the Cadillac Optiq EV, a distinct narrative compared to its larger counterpart, the Lyriq. Positioned to complement Cadillac’s existing EV lineup, the OPTIQ promises competitive pricing without compromising the brand’s signature luxury. This phenomenon owes itself partly to the lack of a front trunk, a design choice enabling Cadillac to strategically arrange components at the front, thereby enhancing the utility of the vehicle’s rear section.
The OPTIQ in the U.S. will feature an 85-kilowatt-hour battery pack and a dual motor all-wheel drive system, delivering up to 300 horsepower and 354 lb-ft of instant torque. On a full charge, it offers a Cadillac-estimated 300 miles of range, with DC fast charging adding up to 79 miles in about 10 minutes.
Regen On Demand is a driver-controlled braking feature using a pressure-sensitive paddle on the steering wheel, while One-Pedal Driving allows the driver to slow down and stop the vehicle using only the accelerator, converting kinetic energy into electricity for the battery. The OPTIQ also provides multiple Drive Modes, including Tour, Sport, Snow/Ice, and My Mode, for a personalized driving experience.
The OPTIQ blends sophisticated design and technology, presenting a sporty yet luxurious profile. Its ambitious proportions and athletic stance are complemented by several unique exterior features. The fixed-glass roof enables a seamless transition from glass to sheet metal, while the Black Crystal Grille features a laser-etched pattern for a high-tech aesthetic. Additionally, the rear-quarter panel design includes a precision pattern in the acoustic laminate glass, nodding to classic Cadillac styling.
Inside, the OPTIQ offers a high-tech, welcoming cabin with luxurious details. The spacious interior includes illuminated décor and a range of advanced technologies. The patterned accent fabric is woven from 100% recycled materials, and the PaperWood veneer is made from tulip wood and recycled newspaper. The OPTIQ leads in cargo capacity and second-row space and features a 33-inch LED display with 9k resolution projecting over a billion colors.
The interior is further enhanced by advanced safety technologies, such as adaptive cruise control, Blind Zone Steering Assist, and Enhanced Automatic Parking. Google Built-In Compatibility offers features like Google Maps and Google Assistant, and the 19-speaker AKG Audio System with Dolby Atmos provides a high-quality listening experience.
The OPTIQ will be available in two trims, Luxury and Sport, allowing customers to choose based on their preferences. Pricing in the U.S. starts at an estimated $54,000, including destination charges but excluding taxes, titles, licenses, and dealer fees. Production of the Cadillac OPTIQ will commence in late fall, marking a significant step in Cadillac’s journey towards a fully electric portfolio by the end of the decade.
