Mitsubishi is planning to phase out the Mirage by the end of this year, leaving its US lineup with the dated 2024 Outlander Sport, the divisive Eclipse Cross, and the popular Outlander and Outlander PHEV. Recognizing the need for revitalization, Mitsubishi’s US leadership has launched the Momentum 2030 business plan.

This strategic initiative aims to rejuvenate the brand’s presence in North America through an expanded dealer network, enhanced regional outreach, increased innovation, and a shift toward electrification. The plan also includes the introduction of new models and consistent updates to current ones through 2030.

Speculation abounds regarding Mitsubishi’s next moves, with some suggesting a production vehicle based on the rugged D:X minivan concept or a collaboration with Nissan to reintroduce a pickup truck to the American market.

Alternatively, creators like AutoYa envision a more incremental approach, focusing on enhancing existing models, such as the Outlander with a mid-cycle facelift for the 2025 or 2026 model year.

AutoYa’s speculative design proposes exterior updates, including a refreshed front fascia with redesigned headlights and taillights, complemented by new alloy wheels. Inside, a revamped dashboard integrating the instrument cluster with a larger infotainment display creates a more modern and immersive driving environment.
