Bringing a fresh perspective to electric golf carts, the EK has drawn comparisons to Kanye West’s iconic Yeezy line. With its futuristic and eye-catching design, the EK stands out from other golf carts, including those owned by royalty, making it an appealing option for city transportation.
Created by AZULIK Real Estate and Roth FabLab in Quintana Roo, Mexico, for the AZULIK Basin project in Tulum, the EK features organic, nature-inspired curves and emphasizes sustainability, luxury, and comfort. Its fully electric motor ensures eco-friendly performance, which is ideal for ferrying guests around the residential area.
Though it matches the performance of standard golf carts with an estimated range of 100 km (62 miles), a figure often optimistic for electric vehicles, the EK’s distinct design provides a unique experience.
Constructed with fiberglass and automotive paint, the EK’s interior features waterproof nautical fabric and locally sourced zapote wood accents. The three-seater includes two rear seats and a driver’s seat, with a central console providing cup holders, wireless charging, and a humidifier.
3D-printed parts streamline production, and the EK includes a reverse camera, digital tachometer, and zapote wood controls. Powered by a 2,200W motor, it reaches speeds of up to 40 kph (25 mph) and takes eight hours to fully charge.
Currently, the EK exists as a prototype, with plans for further production based on real-life testing. Like a Yeezy product, the EK has garnered significant media attention, ensuring its success.
