Amidst rising anticipation, a fresh teaser has been released by the US automaker for the latest variant of the C8 Corvette. Building on the legacy of the 495-hp Stingray, the 670-hp flat-plane Z06, and the 655-hp hybrid Corvette E-Ray with AWD, the stage is now set for the debut of the new Corvette ZR1 flagship.
The teaser hints at a twin-turbo powertrain, indicating it will build upon the Z06’s engine. This suggests that the ZR1 will feature twin turbos on its flat-plane crank V8, marking the first turbocharged engine in Corvette history, accompanied by enhanced aerodynamics.
Burlapp proposes that General Motors might expand its zero-emissions lineup to complement the high-performance Corvette series.
He suggests the third-generation 2024 Chevy Traverse, starting at $37,600, could be the next candidate for the BEV3 x Ultium platform. This speculation aligns with Chevrolet’s strategy, potentially leading to a 2026 Chevrolet Traverse EV, complementing Cadillac’s upcoming three-row Vistiq.
The Traverse competes with models like the Toyota Grand Highlander, Mazda CX-90, Kia Telluride, Hyundai Palisade, Dodge Durango, and Ford Explorer. An all-electric version would help the Traverse stand out in the crowded full-size CUV segment, attracting attention alongside mid-size rivals.
Chevrolet’s approach includes an upcoming all-new Bolt EV or EUV priced under $35k, making a full-size Traverse EV a logical addition to their range.
