Expanding its electric vehicle lineup, Volkswagen has introduced the ID.7 GTX Sedan, following the earlier launch of the ID.7 GTX Tourer, each offering distinct features that set them apart from non-GTX models.
Like the Tourer, the ID.7 GTX Sedan is Volkswagen’s most powerful EV, equipped with a dual-motor setup producing 335 hp and all-wheel drive. It accelerates from 0 to 62 mph in 5.4 seconds, offers a range of 370 miles on a single charge (WLTP cycle), and supports up to 200 kW charging, allowing the 86 kWh battery to recharge from 10 to 80 percent in under 30 minutes.
Visually, the ID.7 GTX Sedan has unique design elements, including a distinctive light design, new 20-inch alloys, and GTX logos. Inside, it features sports seats with extra side bolstering, red topstitching, and 30-color ambient lighting.
Additional amenities include smartphone connectivity, an augmented reality head-up display, a voice assistant with integrated ChatGPT, and comfort options like heated seats and remote parking via smartphone.
The ID.7 GTX Tourer offers more cargo space (21.4 cu-ft) compared to the Sedan (18.8 cu-ft) and is marginally slower at 62 mph (5.5s). Its range reaches up to 364 miles.
The ID.7 lineup also includes the ID.7 Pro S, utilizing the same 86 kWh battery as the GTX. The ID.7 Tourer Pro S can travel up to 429 miles, while the fastback version can achieve up to 441 miles on a full charge.
Launching in Europe this summer, the availability of the ID.7 GTX models in the US remains uncertain due to potential changes in branding.
