Chevrolet is calling back over 13,000 Corvette cars made in 2024 and 2025 because of a safety problem. These cars might have seatbelts that don’t work right, which could make injuries worse if there’s a crash.

This recall has a special number given by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA): 24V-418. It affects 13,464 Corvettes made from September 18, 2023, to March 22, 2024. Chevrolet thinks about 8% of these cars might have the issue.

Chevrolet hasn’t said if only certain types of Corvettes have the problem. But they explained that the recalled cars have seatbelt parts that might get stuck and not let the driver or passenger buckle up safely. This happens because two parts inside the seatbelt system might not be the right size, according to the NHTSA.

Even though Chevrolet got 56 complaints about this problem, they don’t know of any crashes or injuries. They’re going to tell owners about the issue by mail starting July 22. Fixing it is not too complicated: owners just need to take their Corvette to a dealer, and a technician will replace the faulty parts.

This problem is serious enough that Chevrolet told all its dealers to stop selling or delivering the affected cars, and they can’t even be used for test drives until further notice. Chevrolet says they don’t have the parts they need to fix the recalled cars yet, so they’ll give more updates later.
