Though Mitsubishi Motors North America saw a significant 35% jump in deliveries for Q1 2024 compared to the same period last year, the total sales figure only narrowly surpassed 28,000.

The discontinuation of the Mirage due to low demand has shrunk the company’s offerings, leaving just the Outlander Sport, Eclipse Cross, and the Outlander. Despite the limited lineup, Mitsubishi’s executives remain optimistic.

Their new five-year plan, Momentum 2030, focuses on a path to renewal. This strategy emphasizes electrification (hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and electric vehicles), dealer network growth, technological innovation, and a steady stream of new or refreshed models from fiscal years 2026 to 2030.

Whispers in the industry suggest a potential collaboration with Nissan to introduce a mid-size pickup truck in the US market. With a focus on fewer models, Mitsubishi vehicles are likely to become a more familiar sight on the roads.

Rumors swirl around the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross. Speculation suggests a major redesign on the horizon, with the 2025 or 2026 model year potentially ushering in a significant overhaul. This wouldn’t be entirely surprising.

Introduced for the 2018 model year, the Eclipse Cross received a refresh for 2022. The 2024 update offered minor tweaks and a Black Edition trim, hinting that a more substantial transformation could be coming soon.
