Decades after the outrageous and often imitated car race comedy “The Cannonball Run” roared across the silver screen, the cultural impact of the film and the legendary vehicles it showcased is undeniable.
This year marks the 45th anniversary of the Lamborghini Countach LP 400 S, a car forever linked to the movie thanks to its starring role.
To celebrate this special occasion, Lamborghini reunited with some of the film’s leading ladies to reminisce about a project that continues to hold a special place in automotive pop culture.
Decades after enduring the wear and tear of filming and surviving on a diet of hairspray fumes, the Lamborghini Countach from “The Cannonball Run” found itself back in the hands of someone who cherished its history.
Previously owned by a friend of the film’s director, the car was meticulously cared for by Jeff Ippoliti, a New Yorker living in Florida, who ensured it remained in pristine, original condition.
This dedication paved the way for a reunion between the car and the two actresses who spent the most screen time piloting it.
