Contrary to its earlier pronouncements, Jeep has backtracked on its decision to retire the Wrangler Rubicon 392.
Offered as a “Final Edition” for the 2024 model year with a limited production run, the high-performance off-roader will return for 2025 with some minor tweaks to its standard equipment.
While details on pricing and production volume remain undisclosed, Jeep promises a 2025 Rubicon 392 Final Edition with a slightly revised equipment list compared to its 2024 counterpart.
While the Ford Bronco Raptor boasts a powerful EcoBoost V6 engine, its sound can’t compete with the legendary HEMI V8 offered in the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392.
This 6.4-liter powerhouse delivers 470 horsepower and matches the Wrangler 4xe’s peak torque, making it a beast on the road. With a 0-60 mph time of 4.5 seconds and a quarter-mile run in 13 seconds flat, the Wrangler Rubicon 392 is a thrill ride.
An 8-speed automatic transmission is the only option, as the manual transmission can’t handle the engine’s torque. The Rubicon 392 comes standard with impressive off-road equipment, including an 8,000-pound winch, rock sliders, locking differentials, a sway bar disconnect, and a full-time 4WD system.
The Final Edition builds upon the Rubicon 392 with unique features like a standard winch, rock sliders, bronze wheels, a fold-out table, premium leather seats, exclusive decals, a suspension lift, and commemorative interior accents.
This surprise announcement came after Jeep listened to customer demand and decided to extend production of the 392 Final Edition into the 2025 model year. This decision is likely driven by the high profit margin of this special edition Wrangler, despite the V8 engine’s uncertain future due to stricter fuel economy regulations.
