During the last winter season in the mountains, Land Rover introduced the Range Rover Park City Edition for a select group of buyers. Now, for this summer’s mountain season, Lexus has crafted something special called the GX Monogram specifically for attendees of Aspen’s Food & Wine Classic.

This unique vehicle is the result of collaboration between the Japanese automaker Lexus and the American appliance manufacturer Monogram, aiming to create what they call “a culinary experience on wheels.”

Before diving in, it’s important to understand what they mean by “culinary.” Monogram is known for its high-end appliances: they make microwave ovens costing $3,500 or more, refrigerators starting at $10,000, and professional ranges from $11,000. This isn’t your average kitchen setup; it’s tailored for Aspen’s sophisticated culinary scene, where meals come with sherbet and a table crumber between courses, quite different from basic campfire cooking.

So, what’s inside this GX Monogram? The rear area has been luxuriously designed for socializing. Amidst black and quilted camel leather interiors, accented with brass, titanium, and Dekton slate, a full-length center console divides the space into four individual seating areas.

Rear passengers enjoy amenities like a cold drawer and a chilled console compartment, perfect for keeping ingredients fresh and ready for mixing up drinks or preparing snacks. Between the seats, there’s even a $1,500 heated ice press from Monogram, which crafts crystal-clear ice spheres, ideal for premium beverages.

At the event, the real action happens at the rear. Opening a panel where the side window would normally be reveals storage for wine glasses. Instead of the usual tailgate, the GX Monogram features barn doors.

The left door houses bar tools such as a shaker and decanter, while the right door stores cooking essentials like a pizza peel and kitchen utensils. In the center sits Monogram’s 30-inch Smart Flush Hearth Oven, designed to mimic the performance of a wood-fired brick oven, capable of making everything from pizza to artisan bread.

The vehicle includes other useful compartments like storage for cutlery and a trash bin, all neatly tucked away. Even the ornate roof rack serves a purpose, though its exact use remains a mystery — perhaps it’s for storing gear while focusing on making ice cubes with Monogram’s unique heated press, reportedly the only one of its kind in the country.

If you can’t attend the event but want to recreate the experience, Food & Wine has shared recipes and the wine list from the weekend. Try whipping up dishes like shakshuka with eggplant and peppers at home.

And if you’re in the market for a new Lexus, check out their “Monogram by Lexus” program, designed to streamline the buying process. Visit a Lexus dealership and ask about it while sipping on a glass of 2016 Pierre Meurgey Les Vignes Franches Beaune 1er Cru — because even car shopping can be done with a touch of luxury and style.
